Winemaking

With a focus on new and alternative varieties, RVIC made its first small batches of wine in 2008. This project has only been made possible through the generous technical support provided by Eric Semmler (919 wines), winemaker, Angove Pty Ltd and Constellation Wines.

Vineyard inspections and tasting functions held by RVIC, provide industry with an excellent opportunity to assess first hand, the performance and potential, for alternative varieties grown in a hot inland region like the Riverland.

These functions have been well attended and the response from attendees extremely positive.

The wine making program is an expensive project. RVIC have a license which enables the sale of the wines. These funds are used to fund more trials and winemaking activities.
